when power hungry people try to justify derision
when oceans rise up higher than we ever could envision
when people think a thing will only be settled with a gun
wouldn’t you like to take a ride away from all this crazy
just walk out the door
you’ll find no phone, no news, alone into the mist
but maybe you’ll just flip on a light and look into this madness
see what’s been going on
now cling to kindness, rage for rightness
when words coming at you tend to fill you with suspicion
when those you’re supposed to trust are just looking for submission
when people make decisions that are based on supposition
